I Challenge You To A Duel?

O.K I hope I am not biting off more than what I can chew.  I have a challenge for you and I am going to challenge myself as well. If you don’t know by now I am a true believer in personal development.  I usually take a minimum of 1 hr per day and read a chapter of a book, listen to a CD or watch a webinar.  I am always in search of more knowledge and value to offer the world and myself.

With that being said, I am challenging you because I want you to hold me accountable and I will hold you accountable as well.  Because I feel like I am getting a little lazy and I have been listening to more audio CD’s and watching more videos than reading books lately. So I decided to read 4 new books this year and I want you to join me.  So I challenge you to a duel.  What I am going to do is pick 4 books that I have not read and read at least one of them every quarter of this year.  I was hoping that you would join me and start reading and we could talk about each book and continue to learn and better ourselves.

So I went onto my PeopleString homepage and I Googled top entrepreneur books.  I found 8 books that I have not read.  Today is January 10th so as part of the challenge is we must read 1 book per quarter.   I felt that would be very easy for most people to do.  So the goal is to be done reading by April 1st.  I picked 8 books just in case you have already read a book I choose.  If you are in this with me, leave me a comment ant tell me which book you will read first.

Remember I am randomly choosing these books, and I simply Googled top entrepreneur books.

I will be reading the first 4 books on this list.  So have fun  and try to read a chapter a day and you will finish in no time.  Keep the comments coming and we must be finished with the first book by April 1st.

  6. Ok. Finished reading The Power of Now, which officially is one of the best books I’ve ever experienced. Noticed I didn’t say “Read” but “Experienced”. What I found powerful about it was it truly helped me “understand” living in the present moment. Not an understanding from the mind, but understanding from my inner Being.

Author Eckhart Tolle talks about how we as humans constantly live our lives through our head, our minds. Whether the past or future. How many times have we talked to ourselves saying “I’ll only be happy when I get that new car, or I’ll feel better when all my bills are paid off. There is nothing wrong with striving for success and wanting a great life. Just be careful your not living as that person in your head which doesn’t see yourself as successful or having that great life because thats where pain likes to hang out and feed on itself, or rather the mind. Live in the now.

Vince. I just wanted to add that initiating this post was a fantastic idea. Keep it up.

    On to the E-Myth

    Cheers!

Thank you for this article Vince, I’m enjoying the training here. My business is growing slowly to medium, but my goal is to sign up ten people in one week. I wish I knew how to sign up entrepreneurs. I am going to the training, and I know our downline will see the value to upgrade, but its still the money for a lot of the money. After reading your article on Scheduling Your Time, I do that everyday. I write down everything I do, and I tried to work at least 6 forums every day or every other day, doing a lot of safelists, and ads.

    Thank you for your article.

Hi Vince.. I, too, am late in getting to the table, but I will do my best.. I just may have one of the titles laying around here as I have been really into personal development for a few years now. I am really enjoying your training and hope as everything sinks in that my string will begin to blossom.

Although I’m blazing through this book because it’s amazing, I may just fit another book from your list before the deadline!

I Love your Challenge. I usually start the day with at least an hour of my Hour of Power. Usually some of that has to do with Bible Study, they I get into Personal Development. I already have a list of books for the year like; Laws of Success-Napoleon Hill, You Can’t Afford The Luxury of a Negative Thought, Hung by the Tongue,Aladden Factor, You Just Don’t Understand,Richest Man In Babylon, and some others. Once I get my plans laid out perhaps we could find one to read either together or read and later discuss. I have 3 books that are a Daily read (dated each day) that I do something similar with and you really get a lot out of it. I have a situation with my lungs COPD which has kept me behind greatly, however I was in a nursing home for 3 years about 2 years ago because of the condition, and now I am able to do much more. Just starting People String so I am not familiar with it. I’m not sure what my People String address is so I hope I did this well.

    Hi Vince,

I’m very much behind. I am going to keep reading as time permits but I may not reach the goal of 4 books this year. I am about half-way through “I’ve Seen a Lot of Famous People Naked, and They’ve Got Nothing on You! Business Secrets from the Ultimate Street-Smart Entrepreneur” by Jake Steinfeld and he has a TON of good information in there for anyone wanting to start a business.

    Blessings,
