The Scam Myth

The Scam Myth

Well what is the Scam Myth?  The Scam Myth is what most people feel when they are presented with anything that in their mind is risky or gives them a chance of loss.  I have really been waiting for the right time to write this article and make this video because I wanted the information to be good.  I wanted to do my research and make sure that I could get my point across without coming off like completely understand this myth because I don’t.

What I do know is when I started to live my life  the way the  people who I have come to know and view as successful my life completely changed.  What I can tell you is that every leader that I follow would be perceived as to risky to most people. The more I live my life this way the more I feel like what I was doing before was the real scam or to risky.

I want you to ask yourself this question.  How many things in your life have you truly been scammed on?  By the way, I don’t consider it  being a scam if you were over charged for something or you buy into a company and you don’t make money.  My opinion of those things happening is that you choose to buy that service and if you didn’t make money after paying to join that was due to the fact that didn’t do a very good job of marketing and selling that particular product or service.  Sorry for being so brutally honest but that is the way I see it.  Companies can only give you the opportunity to be rich, then it’s up to you to make the most out of it.

Lets be honest most of us have never had a Bernie Madoff situation, where you gave someone money and their intent was to scam you, deceive you and take your money.  Chances are that hasn’t happened to you!  If  anything like that has happened to you,  I’m sorry and my heart goes out to you.  At the same time remember that these things are extremely rare and should not discourage you from attempting other things in your life.

In my research I have found that the true scam is the way that we think.  Changing the way we think isn’t easy but it can be done.  I’m 30 years old and I made a consistant effort to change the way I think by taking baby steps.  So lets start dong that today!  Try to challenge yourself on the things that you think are difficult.  You will be surprised at how easy things become when you take on the things you fear the most.

Have you ever thought about it this way, people who get scammed usually were trying to get rich quickly by putting their faith into a person, promising huge returns.  Maybe it was karma?  The point I am trying to make is that you can’t get scammed when you are the engine driving the car.  If you are the person building your business and offing the service or products.  If you are the person helping other acquire wealth for themselves.  Everything that I am saying is all hypothetical.  What I’m trying to do is just force you to think differently.

  1. As far as scams are concerned, they truly exsist. Part of your point was that people are scamed because they themselves do not correctly market the product or business they’re trying to promote. This is true. But also there are scams that are only set up just to take your money to buy into a service or product, and you find that after you’ve paid, somehow the outcome does’nt deliver on the promise.

It would be beneficial if supposedly legits would just be frank and tell the buyer that their programs may or may not work for the average individual.

Vince, you wrote a very interesting article on this important issue of “scams”. I like the video and the bullet points you made. The real deal is, people tend to react instead of respond to things that are new or unfamiliar. Labeling something a scam is an easy way out of making a decision.

  3. Lee,

I was a little nervous when I wrote this article and I want to make it clear that I do not nor do I claim to be an expert on what is or what is not a scam. The point I just wanted to get across is that most things are not a scam. It’s like they say”No Risk No Reward”

The scam or even spam myth! Online Most if not all people whenever approached online on some opportunity to earn, whether bona fide or hyped, the auto response is always a very cautious and guarded one, literally thousands of such messages are published so invariably its not so much the persuasiveness of the add also gut instinct plays a small part, People string is undoubtedly not scam but a lot of members are disoriented as to how best to use the site to their advantage, sometimes too many instructions confuses or complicates it more for certain individuals,i am sure that there are members who know how to navigate their way around and thus gain an edge, also at same token, there may be members who need to be hand held and lead step by step throughout the earning process..
Confidence in the site is already gained, just tell them what to do next, dont give too many options,confuses..just go like ..OK..now do this ,after a time, now do that..because you need to ..
i for one, will respond well to guided instructions like this till i am familiar and versed in the ways to earning within people string..actually i dont need more convincing as to earning potential,i am already there, just
1 step at a time guidance or directions as to how to go that way.!

  6. Scams, Scams, Scams.
I’ve been scamed, duped, lied to and taken advantage of.
I don’t hold it in my head as a way to justify my life being a financial failure.
What is a scam? My very personal take:
    1. Anytime a product/service is advertised/promoted as being able to deliver a certain result but it doesn’t, and the promoters know, I consider it a scam.
    2. Anytime the price of said product/service is set not according to what the competition is doing but rather according to how many people will hope to make money from the opp, I consider it a scam.

When it comes to MLMs, I don’t consider all scams. But I see some where the entry and/or monthly expense is just outregeous, simply based on what the creators consider fair, not what the market can support. Nowadays, if I’m asked to pony up more than a few hundred, I’m very wary of the idea. If I wouldn’t pay for the product/service without the opp to make money attached to it, then I stay away from it. I tell you, some of them can’t be consider anything other than scams.
